Our Investors
There is no substitute for experience. London Business Angel Investors are successful entrepreneurs, FTSE 100 board members and directors and City professionals, some of whom have been members for over 10 years and enjoyed some significant exits through LBA. Our angels bring deep sector knowledge and contacts to young growing companies.
Our investors normally invest together in syndicates and can provide added value through strategic, operational advice following investment. One of our investors may take a non-exec board position following investment to assist in the strategic direction of your company.
The LBA EIS Co-investment Fund
In addition to our strong investor base we also operate an innovative co-investment fund, the London Business Angels EIS Round Table Fund, the first of its kind in the UK. This is raised via our membership and invests into circa 5 companies each year as a cornerstone investor, with up to £100k in an individual deal. As an LBA company you would be eligible for match funding through our fund, which could prove invaluable in helping you close your funding round.
Unrivalled Training and Support
Each company selected to present to the network receives an intensive training programme in the run up to the company presentation event at our offices run by our expert team to help you prepare for your funding pitch. We will also provide you with support by telephone and email in the run up to the event.
Our training includes the following:
- Advice on the investment process and how to interact with our investment community;
- Professional pitch training;
- Fine tuning your PowerPoint presentation and executive summary;
- Complimentary specialist legal advice about the investment process;
- Filming a 2 minute video pitch.
We also provide each chosen company with a copy of our LBA Entrepreneurs Bible which includes standard term sheets, shareholders agreements and due diligence check lists.
Following the event we will continue to be available to you to help secure your funding, and our board rooms are available free of charge to hold your syndicate meetings with our investors.
We regularly receive feedback from companies who have also pitched to other networks that the training and support that LBA provided was far more comprehensive, and invaluable in helping them effectively prepare for the funding process.
